Elizabethan ServiceSt. Jude's will come alive on Saturday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m.when HRH Queen Elizabeth I arrives to preside over an authentic service using the 1559 Book of Common Prayer. Visitors will be transported back to Elizabethan England to experience the kind of worship service in which William Shakespeare himself might have participated.

Light fare will include typically British finger sandwiches and sweet deserts. The Queen will be on hand to greet you and to provide a "Royal" good time. Admission is free, of course.

Dr. Lee Montgomery will be on hand to discuss a variety of topics related to religion in the time of William Shakespeare and the influence the Bard's religious experience had upon his plays. A multimedia "tour" of Holy Trinity Church (Shakespeare's parish church) will be provided as well as informative exhibits tracing the history of the Church of England and the English Reformation.
